The club had an extremely good victory over Cambridge Chesterton at the weekend to take them into the National Semi-final of the Denny Plate Club Knock-out competition. With 2 rinks playing away at Cambridge and 2 at home the club recorded a fine victory by 98 v 62 shots. The away rink skipped by Mark Todd led the way with a wonderful victory by 40 v 10, this was backed up by a further winning score of 22 v 16 by Andy Clarke's rink. At home Ian Catrchpole's rink won by 23 v 13 and the rink skipped by Alan Norman had a defeat by the same score of 13 v 23. The club will now play South Shields from the Newcastle area in the National Semi-Final, this game will be played on Saturday March 10th at a venue yet to be confirmed. Let's hope the team can continue the fine form they have showed in this competition and win their way to the Final.
